SUmmary: Lenina is debating on whether to go to the north pole with Benito Hoover or New Mexico with Bernard. Henry then compares Bernard to a rhino stating that rhinos cannot learn new tricks. Bernard chooses to do something alone with Lenina instead of bringing her to a public place, and of course Lenina finds this odd and questions what they will be doing. Bernard states that they will be talking, and Lenina disagrees with him and pursuades him to go to the women's heavy weight wrestling competition. After Lenina cannot stop promoting soma and bernard tells her to shut up, he then drives the helicopter out over the dark water and lenina becomes uncomfortable. He then starts speaking sentimentally about himself. Lenina completely ignores his talk and bernard simply gives up and flies to his rooms and takes some soma. In the end Lenina still finds bernard odd.
