1st year- suffered fromsevere loneliness and depression. Heard much piano, refused wine and tobacco, and read light character books.
2nd year- piano was silent, prisoner asked for classic novels
5th year- ate and drank. Didn’t read. Played piano.
6th year- studied languages, philosophy, and history
10th year- studied gospel
14th and 15th- read poetry, natural science, medicine
